Members of the Shropshire Charity Golf Society have presented a check for £4,500 to the Midlands Air Ambulance charity.
The society is made up of businessmen from all over Shropshire and the West Midlands and was hosting its first competition of the year, at the Shropshire Golf Club in Telford.
Society chairman Graham Mills said: “The club is now in its 9and year with growing membership and during this time we have raised over £10,000 for charity whilst bringing business people together in a very social atmosphere on beautiful golf courses across the region.
“We are greatly indebted to long-term sponsors Throgmorton Associates Wealth Management Ltd (formerly Nick Jones Wealth Management) and Henshalls Insurance Brokers, who have both supported us during these difficult recent times, allowing us to hand over this money today. to such a very noble cause.
“We have also begun to expand our social media presence through the efforts of Sally-Anne Burdon and are always ready to welcome new members into the company.”
Shropshire Executive Fundraiser for the MAA, Maria Jones, added: “We are extremely grateful to SCGC for this very generous donation, as we need to raise over £10million every year to support the vital work that the ambulance performs, saving lives by buying time.
