Talkeetna Bachelor Society Distributes Over $ 41,000 In Auction Products

the Talkeetna Bachelor Society distributed the proceeds from the record-breaking Talkeetna Bachelor auction in 2021.

Held on December 4the, the auction grossed over $ 40,000 in bids and donations, making it by far the largest auction to date.

Half of the proceeds from the auction were transferred to the Talkeetna Bachelor Society Fund for Women and Children in Crisis. This fund is administered by the Alaska Community Foundation and the use of its funds is advised by the Jessica Stevens Community Foundation.

The remaining money was distributed in the form of grants to local non-profit associations in the North Susitna Valley. This year’s recipients include Denali Education Center, Green Light Circus, The Upper Susitna Food Pantry, Sunshine Transit, Denali Nordic Ski Club, Upper Susitna Softball Association, VFW Auxiliary Post 3836, Sunshine Station Childcare Center, KTNA, Talkeetna Elementary School , and Su Valley Junior / Secondary School. The grants will fund a wide variety of programs, including meals for local children, extracurricular activities and field trips.
