Redlands Area Historical Society Offers Online Tour of Western Redlands – Redlands Daily Facts

Marie Reynolds will present “Touring Terracina and West Redlands,” a slideshow tour of part of the West Redlands, when the Redlands Area Historical Society meets via Zoom at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 24.

The wheelchair tour begins at the Contemporary Club on Eureka Street, heads west on Brookside Avenue to Terracina Boulevard, continues east on West Cypress Avenue and ends at the Contemporary Club.

The slideshow is an offshoot of the “Treasures and Hidden Neighborhoods” bus tours written by Reynolds, Norma Clark, Dodie Farmer, Mary Kay Jacobs and Tish Sandos. These tours of various areas of Redlands were fundraisers for the Aid League’s Redlands History Tours for fourth graders.

The program will include stories from the early settlers of Brookside Avenue, the ill-fated Terracina Hotel and many long-gone homes and well-known Redlands figures whose homes still stand, according to a press release.

Reynolds is the newsletter editor for the Redlands Area Historical Society. She has also been a member of the Contemporary Club for over 20 years and co-advisor of the Contemporary Club’s Kimberly Juniors.

Reynolds and her husband, Scott, live in an 1891 Victorian home where they raised their four children.

Redlands Area Historical Society programs are open to the public. To attend, go to us02web.zoom.us/j/85738894873.
