KOI, one of the newest esports organizations founded by Gerard Piqué of FC Barcelona and famous Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos, is set to enter the VALUING scene, according to Dexerto.
The team would be international, with its core coming from the previous UCAM Esports Club roster. Gabriel “shrew” Gessle, Oskar “PHYRN” Palmqvist and Ladislav “Sacake ‘Sachr” are expected to join KOI from UCAM. Their head coach and assistant coach of the Spanish team, Antonio “Aska” Lozano and Sergio “Sikako” Rodríguez, would also sign with KOI. This decision was first reported by Upcomer.
The trio are expected to be joined by Joona “H1ber” Parviainen and Gabriel “starkk” Marques. The last official team for the former was Team Finest, which he left in mid-November. Yet he would have been busy since then. According to Dexerto, he was among the players who underwent testing with Fnatic.
Starkk, on the other hand, is an elder CS: GO pro who has been on a five-month professional break VALUING since leaving SAW at the end of July.
KOI has yet to officially confirm the signing of its VALUING line up. But last month, the organization unveiled its League of Legends squad in front of thousands of people at the Palau Sant Jordi arena in Barcelona. There, Ibai revealed that KOI was planning to launch a VALUING division and that the first trials were already taking place.
The team would compete in VRL Spain, one of the regional leagues in Europe. You can find all the details about the 2022 VALUING Champions Tour in our guide.
