Golf outing raises funds for Middletown-based organization

A little rain did not dampen the morale or the generosity of the 111 golfers, who spent a day on the links, supporting the 22sd Bucks County Annual Family Services Association Driving for a youth golf outing, which recently took place at the Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope.

The event raised more than $ 84,500 to support essential health and social services programs offered to the community by the Bucks County Family Service Association, based in Middletown Township.

As well as being the most successful golf outing in history, the fundraiser proudly honored its youngest supporter, Grace McCarthy, 10, a resident of Bensalem. Over the past year, McCarthy, a Girl Scout, has spearheaded several charitable initiatives that have made a huge difference in the lives of many children and families in need. She was presented with The Susan N. Altomari Champion Youth Award by Family Service CEO Julie Dees.

“Grace’s concern for others and her determination to help have inspired us all at Family Service,” said Dees. “Thank you, Grace, for making a positive and lasting impact on those we serve. “

The tournament was sponsored by NFP Executive Benefits, LLC. Those in attendance enjoyed the lunch, several in-game contests, a raffle and a silent auction. The evening program included cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The awards were announced by Family Services Board Member Frank Sullivan, Esq. and NFP vice president, business development Brian Rodgers.
