AEW Dynamite: Jericho Appreciation Society Acquires Two New Members

AEW Dynamite’s Road Rager special saw a grudge match between Chris Jericho and Ortiz where the loser had to shave his head. However, the talking point of the match was what happened in the final moments that ultimately determined the winner.

The Jericho Appreciation Society has been feuding with Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz since post-Revolution Dynamite. However, of late, JAS have come out on top after beating Kingston, Ortiz, Santana and Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson in an Anarchy In The Arena match.

The hair vs. hair match was set up after Ortiz cut off a piece of Jericho’s hair during Dynamite last week.

The two would open the Road Rager Special Edition of AEW Dynamite and be joined in the ring by some of their allies.

Jericho nearly lost his hair multiple times after a chaos referee distraction ensued outside the ring, allowing Eddie Kingston to sneak inside and drop Chris Jericho with a devastating fist . Jericho managed to switch off at the last second.

The final moments would see Ortiz seek to finish off Jericho and finally exact revenge on JAS. However, in typical Chris Jericho fashion, the Wizard had another trick up his sleeve, with Fuego del Sol emerging from under the ring and hitting Ortiz in the face with a baseball bat while the referee was again distracted.

This gave Jericho the win as he escaped having his head shaved. Fuego joined Hager and Jericho on stage before removing his mask, only for it to be former Inner Circle member Sammy Guevara who had reunited with Chris Jericho.

Jericho revealed later that night during the Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi Interim World Championship face off that Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti were the newest additions to the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Guevara took to Twitter to confirm the alliance, captioning the post #LosTresSexGods

They would proceed to attack Moxley and Tanahashi, with the help of NJPW Suzuki-gun members Lance Archer and El Desperado.

Only for a match to be revealed for Forbidden Door next Sunday, which would see Jericho’s team of Minoru Suzuki and Sammy Guevara take on Blackpool Combat Club‘s Wheeler Yuta as well as NJPW’s Eddie Kingston and Shota Umino.

You can watch AEW and Forbidden Door internationally on FITE TV.
